GLO Farm Sanctuary provides a safe and loving forever home to rescued farm animals, ensuring that their physical, social and emotional needs are not just met but exceeded. Using ethical veganism, anti-speciesist ideology and GFAS standards as guiding principles we strive to ensure that each individual is thriving from the day they arrive to their final days.
We are compassion in action.
GLO operates very similar to the Humane Society or SPCA, but without the public funding. We work with public agencies to help farmed animals live their best life.
At GLO Farm, we believe in community.
We work closely with a number of other sanctuaries to ensure that we are providing the highest quality of life to our residents.
We strongly believe that if we all work together, we can have the most impact.
MANITOWANING, ONTARIO — GLO Farm Sanctuary has launched a major fundraising campaign to purchase and convert a fully equipped mobile veterinary unit that will allow the sanctuary to establish a dedicated surgical suite on site, bringing lifesaving medical care directly to animals living at the sanctuary on Manitoulin Island.
The sanctuary, which provides lifelong care to rescued farm animals, is seeking to raise $50,000 to purchase the unit from a retiring Ontario veterinarian and convert it into a permanent surgical and diagnostic space at the sanctuary.
Located in Northern Ontario on Manitoulin Island, GLO Farm Sanctuary faces a significant challenge when animals require emergency surgery or advanced diagnostics. The closest facility capable of performing complex surgical procedures is the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in Guelph, more than six hours away.
